Welcome to the Faculty of Business, Sohar University.
I am thrilled to be here in my 3rd year as Dean in the Faculty of Business. The faculty thrives to provide an inspiring and inclusive environment for learning, discovery, and service through engagement, where we develop innovative business leaders. As dean of the faculty, I am extremely proud of the rich tradition of providing practical, experiential-based business education that our faculty has upheld since its founding.
The faculty is driven to provide a student-focused culture, along with an emphasis on real-world problem-solving, engagement with the community and its various stakeholders. I am of the view that leadership isn’t based on an individual possessing specific leadership traits, but that it reflects a person’s ability to bring out the best in one’s people/teams and to create an environment where people can ‘lead’ in their own individual ways.
To be a recognized global business school, the faculty is well driven as a member of the prestigious global business accreditation from AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), which correlates with the growth and skillsets required across diverse business degrees both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, our accounting graduates are well connected with the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), which places our graduates on a professional pathway in their careers.
Again, I’m thrilled to be here, and I look forward to many years of supporting SU Faculty of Business students, staff and faculty in our collective efforts to build a better Oman and extended global community.
