Dr Adnan Ali
Biography
Dr. Adnan Ali has been associated with academia-teaching and research, and Industry since 2009. Dr. Ali earned all his Bachelors, Master and Ph.D. academic accolades with Distinction from various universities. During his Ph.D., Dr. Ali demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to his field of expertise and proved to be an outstanding researcher by grabbing several awards and accolades at UTM and national level at Malaysia. Dr. Ali is decorated with the most prestigious “UTM Chancellor Award” for academic excellence for his Ph.D. studies conferred upon him by the Chancellor, Her Majesty the Queen of Johor, Malaysia, in the 67th convocation 2023. Moreover, he also received the “Dean’s List Best Postgraduate Student Award” for Ph.D. studies. Besides, industry experience, he has taught and remained a resource person at several universities in Pakistan, Malaysia and Oman. Moreover, along with the teaching and research, Dr. Ali has also served in various capacities at HEIs such as Head of Department, Director Administration, and Provost. Dr. Ali has also achieved the professional certification of Associate Fellow from Advance HE, United Kingdom. In addition, he is leading the Standard 9- Societal Impact team for AACSB accreditation and Faculty of Business representative for the Community and Industry Engagement Committee at Sohar University.
Furthermore, Dr. Ali’s innovative research initiatives have yielded an impressive publication record and numerous accolades. He received the winner award at the 8th Asia International Conference (AIC2022) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia. Moreover, Dr. Ali also received 2nd Place in the first National Pitching Research Competition (NPRC), Malaysia, held at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia. Dr. Ali has supervised several Bachelor’s and Master’s students and has co-supervised one PhD student. He has organized and attended numerous conferences, workshops, and symposiums, often serving as a session chair at international conferences. Dr. Ali has authored numerous publications in indexed journals and contributed to book chapters published by an International Publisher. He presently serves on the editorial board of Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, the Journal of Developing Economies, and holds the role of Associate Editor for the Sohar University Journal of Sustainable Business. Dr. Ali is currently spearheading an international matching grant project as Principal Investigator (PI), amounting to OMR 3,806 (USD 9,898), and also serves as Co-PI and member on multiple research projects amounting to about OMR 9200 (USD 23,927) aligned with his research interests and Oman Vision 2040. Moreover, he is serving as a reviewer for several high-impact journals. Dr. Ali’s current research interest focuses on resource economics, green finance, financial and sustainable development and interdisciplinary bibliometric analysis.
