Welcome to the Faculty of Language Studies (FLS) at Sohar University! As the Dean since December 2023, I am thrilled to lead a faculty known for its dedication, knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Our vibrant community, characterized by its spirit of collaboration and passion for language studies, is truly inspiring. It is an honor to be part of such an environment that constantly strives towards achieving our collective mission.

At FLS, our vision is clear: to be a beacon of academic excellence and innovation in language studies. To bring this vision to life, we are deeply engaged in the comprehensive review and redesign of our programs. This strategic initiative is driven by our commitment to ensuring that our curriculum is not only contemporary and relevant but also capable of preparing our students for the diverse challenges and opportunities of the 21^st century. We are dedicated to shaping our programs in a way that not only aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 but also integrates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to foster sustainability and innovation.

Central to our mission is the development of a robust research culture among our faculty and students. We believe in the power of research to advance our field and contribute significantly to the global body of knowledge in language studies. Therefore, we are actively promoting the publication of our research findings in highly reputed journals, which serves to enhance the academic reputation of FLS and support our contributions to language studies worldwide.

In our quest for excellence, we are committed to bringing the community and academia together to work towards the betterment of society. To this end, we are actively extending our academic partnerships with globally reputed institutions, including University Technology Malaysia, Lebanese University, University of Sussex, Cambridge University, and Teachers College Columbia University, USA. These partnerships are a testament to our commitment to fostering global collaborations and sharing knowledge for mutual growth.

Moreover, we are dedicated to ensuring that our programs meet the highest standards, both nationally and internationally. As part of this endeavor, we have initiated the process of accrediting our programs with the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), demonstrating our commitment to quality and excellence in education.
