Biography

Dr Khaled is a distinguished professional with a remarkable career as a computer programmer, academic, and researcher that spans over two decades. Since 1998, he has been dedicated to the field, continuously contributing to the advancement of computer science. His educational journey began at the Applied Science University (ASU) of Jordan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 1998, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

Driven by a passion for knowledge, Dr Khaled pursued a Master of Science in Applied Computer Science at the esteemed Free University of Brussels (VUB) in 2001. This pivotal experience broadened his horizons and equipped him with the expertise needed to tackle complex challenges in the realm of computer science.

In 2019, Dr Khaled’s academic pursuits culminated in the successful completion of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in North Cyprus. This achievement not only solidified his intellectual capabilities but also affirmed his commitment to academic excellence.

Throughout his career, Dr Khaled has held esteemed positions at renowned institutions worldwide. Since 2001, he has served as a faculty member at various prestigious universities. These include the Applied Science University (ASU) in Jordan, Fahad bin Sultan University (FBSU) in Saudi Arabia, and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Northern Cyprus. These roles allowed him to impart his extensive knowledge and expertise to aspiring students, shaping the next generation of computer scientists.

In 2019, Dr Khaled was appointed as deputy head of the IT department at the Global College of Engineering and IT (GCET) in Muscat, Oman. This position provided him with a platform to contribute to the institution’s growth and development, leveraging his leadership skills and technical prowess.

Driven by his passion for education and research, Dr Khaled joined Sohar University (SU) in 2021 as a faculty member in the Computing and IT department. In this capacity, he continues to inspire and mentor students, fostering their intellectual growth and preparing them for success in the ever-evolving field of computer science.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr Khaled has taught over 15 different undergraduate-level courses, covering a wide range of topics such as operating systems, databases, programming, security, software engineering, and fundamental courses in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems. His dedication to education is evident in his commitment to delivering high-quality instruction and instilling a deep understanding of the subject matter in his students.

As a prolific researcher, Dr Khaled has made significant contributions to the field of computer science through his publications. His research papers on Digital Geometry, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Multimedia, and Steganography have garnered recognition and respect within the academic community. Currently, his research efforts are focused on the intriguing domain of semantic textual similarity, delving into the intricacies of language processing and analysis.

Dr Khaled’s multifaceted career is a testament to his unwavering commitment to computer science advancement. With his wealth of knowledge, extensive experience, and relentless dedication, he continues to make invaluable contributions to the field, inspiring countless individuals and propelling the boundaries of technological innovation forward.
