FCIT played host to a dynamic and insightful workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) on November 5th. The event, which took place on campus organized by the Omantel Innovation labs, aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of IoT technology and its vast applications across various sectors.

The workshop, aptly titled “Internet of Things (IoT),” delved into crucial aspects of this cutting-edge technology. Students were treated to an engaging session that covered a range of topics, including an introduction to IoT, key components of IoT systems, types of IoT technologies, comparative analysis of technologies, and an exploration of real-world IoT applications.

Led by the expert speaker, Mohammed Al Fori, Assistant Engineer in Digital Strategy and Innovation in Omantel, attendees gained valuable insights into the fundamental concepts behind IoT. Al Fori’s expertise and engaging delivery style made the session both informative and enjoyable, ensuring that participants grasped the intricacies of IoT technology.

The workshop provided attendees with a robust foundation in IoT, equipping them with essential knowledge about the various applications of IoT in sectors such as smart homes, healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, and industrial settings.
