Sohar University Organizes Induction Program to Welcome New Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

Sohar University welcomed its new students for the 2026/2027 academic year through a comprehensive induction program launched at the beginning of the first semester. The program forms part of the University’s preparations for the new academic year and aims to support students in their transition to university life by introducing them to the academic environment, services, facilities, and systems that will support them throughout their educational journey.

The induction program is being held on campus from 31 August to 6 September 2026 and features a range of introductory sessions designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of university life. The program begins with a welcoming address by the Vice Chancellor.

The program also introduces students to a range of essential services and systems related to their academic journey, including admissions and registration, academic advising, student regulations and policies, financial services, student support services, health and safety, student activities and services, communication and marketing, and information technology services. It also features a presentation on the student experience and an introduction to the role of the Student Advisory Council.

In addition, the program includes guided tours of the University’s faculties and facilities, giving students the opportunity to become familiar with the campus environment and the services available to them. An accompanying exhibition also brings together a number of departments, units, and services related to university life.

The induction program coincides with the launch of the 2026/2027 academic year and reflects the University’s commitment to providing new students with the information and guidance they need, while introducing them to their rights and responsibilities and the services available to them. This contributes to their successful integration into the university community and prepares them to begin their academic journey with confidence and awareness.
