In a new achievement reflecting its institutional excellence and commitment to student services, Sohar University has won the Gold Award in the Excellence in Research category- related to student affairs- at the 2025 MENASA NASPA Excellence Awards.
MENASA NASPA is the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia regional division of the international association of student affairs in higher education (NASPA). This accomplishment comes as a result of innovative initiatives implemented by the university’s student affairs departments and units, based on recommendations from a research study conducted by Sohar University students titled:
“The Role of Services in Enhancing Loyalty and Belonging at Sohar University.”
The Student Affairs team activated the study’s recommendations, transforming them into tangible institutional practices that positively impacted the student experience.
This marks the first time an Omani educational institution has received such recognition at the MENASA regional level. The award was announced during the 19th Annual MENASA NASPA Conference, hosted by New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD).
This achievement underscores Sohar University’s dedication to improving service quality and the student experience, leveraging research outcomes to create an inclusive and motivating academic environment that fosters student loyalty and engagement.
