As part of its continuous endeavor to strengthen its academic and research presence on the international stage and expand its network of global partnerships, Sohar University participated as a silver sponsor in the QS Summit in Goa, India, which was held from 27 to 29 January 2025, where it actively participated in the summit with a distinguished presence. During this summit, a number of memorandums of understanding were signed with a group of prestigious Indian universities, as well as meetings were held on the sidelines of the summit with international universities from the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, and with a number of participating Arab universities to discuss ways of joint cooperation between Sohar University and universities from these countries. The university delegation was headed by Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al Fazari, the Vice Chancellor of the University and the membership of the Director of Global Profile and Rankings, the Manager of Communication and Marketing and the Manager of Community Engagement and Partnerships.
These agreements and discussions aimed to enhance joint cooperation in research and academic fields, including the exchange of students and faculty members, the organization of academic visits between the two parties, in addition to hosting scientific conferences, workshops, holding specialized seminars in various disciplines, and carrying out joint research and consultancy projects that contribute to finding solutions to global challenges and enhancing the academic and research level.
