Sohar University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Amirkabir University of Technology

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Sohar University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amirkabir University of Technology in the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of academics, scientific research, and student exchange.

The MoU establishes clear frameworks aimed at enhancing educational and research opportunities, fostering student engagement, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two sides.

The areas of cooperation include:

Academic Affairs: Implementing short-term academic exchange programs for students, as well as exchanging academic materials, lectures, and scientific seminars to promote knowledge sharing.

Scientific Research and Innovation: Establishing joint research groups to explore diverse fields such as humanities, natural sciences, engineering, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, efforts will be made to establish a “Plastic Technology Center” to support research and consultancy in the field of polymers.

Student Affairs: Implementing student training exchange programs and developing a unified training certification program recognized across partner universities. The collaboration also aims to enhance entrepreneurship and support emerging student startups. This strategic partnership represents a significant step toward strengthening academic and research ties between Sohar University and Amirkabir University of Technology. Both institutions aim to leverage their shared expertise for the benefit of students and researchers, contributing to the advancement of education and innovation in both the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
