As part of its commitment to enhancing the educational process, developing academic programs, and strengthening collaboration with the local community to achieve shared goals, the Faculty of Law at Sohar University held its first Advisory Council meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, with the attendance of representatives from the Faculty of Law, alumni, and current students.
The council was honored by the membership of distinguished figures, including Sheikh Abdullah Al-Hatami (Chief Judge of Sohar Court of Appeal), Dr. Khalid Al-Alawi (Director General of the Consumer Protection Authority in North Al Batinah Governorate), Eng. Abdullah Al-Miyasi (Director General of Sohar Industrial City), and Dr. Hamad Al-Rubaie (Chairman of the Oman Lawyers Association) for the academic year 2024/2025.
During the meeting, the council reviewed the academic programs offered by the faculty, which include a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree in Law. Discussions focused on revising and enhancing study plans to align with the needs of the local community, developing students’ skills, and preparing them to excel in the job market.
Furthermore, the council stressed the importance of equipping students with the necessary skills for various legal professions. The meeting also explored the organization of workshops by the Faculty to foster community partnerships, contributing to sustainable development and serving the community.
