Sohar University organized an induction program for new students for the 2024/2025 academic year on September 11 – 12, 2024, at I0-01 on the university campus. The event was attended by Dr. Hamdan bin Suleiman Al-Fazari, the Vice Chancellor of the University, along with a number of academic and administrative staff, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
Approximately 4,000 new students have joined the university for the 2024/2025 academic year. This number is part of the total student, which includes both continuing and new students more than 11500 students.
The purpose of the induction program is to familiarize students with the university’s rules and regulations, as well as the services and facilities provided by the university that will support them throughout their academic journey.
The program began with Holy Quran and a university Movie, followed by the address of Dr. Hamdan bin Suleiman Al-Fazari, the Vice Chancellor of the University, in which he welcomes the new students. This was followed by speeches from the MOHERI, the GFP, the Student Advisory Council, as well as speech from the Admissions and Registration Department, the Financial Department, and the Health, Safety, and Environment Section. The event also featured a “Connect with SU”, an introduction to graduate attributes, and university policies.
Additionally, the induction included an accompanying Academic and Support Services Exhibition, including: student activities, academic support, student services, career guidance, the financial department, health and safety, the Learning Resources Center, Information Technology Services, Admissions and Registration, and the Student Advisory Council.
