Dr Ramdane Tahraoui
Biography
Passionate educationalist who has a wealth of experience as an educator in the Middle East, Africa and Asia Professor in Malaysia and Oman make me the perfect candidate for this position.
Dr. Ramdane began his professional career in Algeria in 1990 as a teacher the same year he received his B.A. in Islamic Sciences. From there, he taught in the Middle East and then Malaysia. He continued his education, receiving his M.A. in Education (teaching of Islamic education) in Malaysia 1998 and his Ph. D. in the same field in 2010.
During his time at the International Islamic University of Malaysia, IIUM, he headed a team which drafted the curriculum for the Faculty of Education at a private university in Malaysia and he reviewed the curriculum for the Faculty of Islamic Studies for another private university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. At IIUM, he was the International Examiner for the Curriculum of Islamic Education within the Faculty of Education and he took part in many rounds of curriculum review. He also took part in their most recent review of learning outcomes for the Unit of Islamic Education (ISED), and he took an active role in training to became a certified professional assessor. Furthermore, in addition to his involvement within the Administrative Department and Faculty of Education at IIUM, including curriculum planning and my professorial duties, he took part in several rounds of strategic planning at the faulty level, he served as head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction as well as head of Research and head of the Islamic Education Unit for the Faculty of Education at IIUM. He has also served as Special Assistant to the Rector of IIUM. He is also proficient with technology, especially within the field of education, having taught a number of courses through long-distance-learning as well as hybrid during the period of COVID safety restrictions and after. He is also fluent in English, Arabic and French and can easily read, write and speak all three.
Dr. Ramdane is active in research and publication, He wrote and edited a number of books and chapters, as well as academic articles in reputable journals.
