The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The celebration marked a major milestone in the University’s history, as it witnessed the graduation of the first-ever batch of PhD students—four graduates completing the Doctor of Philosophy in Education. This achievement represents an important step in strengthening the University’s standing in postgraduate studies and scientific research.
Graduation statistics were as follows:

- 102 graduates from the Faculty of Law
The batch also included:

The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by an address from Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor, who stated:
“On this joyful and blessed day, Sohar University proudly celebrates the graduation of 1,247 students from the 24th batch — a new group of graduates armed with knowledge and empowered with the essential skills for the workplace. Our joy is doubled this year as we celebrate the University’s first PhD graduates — a milestone marking a new chapter in the University’s progress and development. I congratulate all our graduates for their dedication, hard work, and perseverance, and extend heartfelt congratulations to their families and everyone who supported them throughout their journey”.
The graduates’ speech was delivered by Ahmed Al-Jabri, who said:
“At Sohar University, we learned that the winds are neither enemy nor friend — they are a test of commitment. Between lectures and late-night assignments, we realized that a degree is not the end, but the sail for a longer journey. We entered this University like young sailors — a map in hand and a trembling compass of grades. We stumbled at the first gust of wind — a pre-test and an early assignment — but we did not give up”.
The ceremony continued with honoring the top 35 outstanding graduates and their families, followed by the distribution of certificates to all graduates.
The event concluded on a note of pride and accomplishment, reflecting Sohar University’s vision of preparing national talent capable of contributing to the development of Oman’s future and reinforcing its role as a leading academic institution in education, research, and innovation.
