As part of its commitment to sustainability and enhancing environmental awareness, the Faculty of Business at Sohar University launched the Green Drive initiative in collaboration with the Environment Authority Oman, with the participation of several schools. The initiative aims to instill a culture of environmental conservation and encourage active community engagement.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources through the implementation of various environmental activities, most notably tree planting, which contributes to expanding green spaces and improving environmental quality. It also promotes teamwork and cooperation among different segments of society.
This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes sustainable development and environmental preservation through the adoption of eco-friendly practices and the promotion of community awareness on sustainability. The initiative is expected to reinforce the concepts of environmental volunteerism and motivate students and the wider community to adopt positive behaviors that support environmental conservation, contributing to building a greener and more sustainable future.
