The environmental law and the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development conference

Sohar University will organize the fifth edition of the environmental law and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Conference on its campus from November 19 to 20, 2024, with the title Legislation Towards a Sustainable Economy in the MENA Region: Current Status and Future Directions. The inaugural event will be under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Mahad Baawain, Minister of Labor.

The conference will address four primary topics: first topic international environmental law and the SDGs, second topic domestic and regional methods, regional social and governance norms, third topic the environmental law education to support SDG implementation. The fourth topic is Practical Application: Current Capacity Development Gaps and Needs for Regional Environmental Law Authorities and Ministries.

The conference includes a number of sessions on environmental policy and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
It’s worth noting that the institution already signed an agreement with UNESCO in Doha for the Green university and Green City.
