Course Overview Through this program, we seek to identify the nature of Royal Decree No. 35/2022 regarding the management of judicial affairs, according to which the judicial system in the Sultanate of Oman was transformed from a dual judiciary to a unified judiciary, and since the nature of transformation is one of the unique experiences in the world, and accordingly the topics of the workshop were divided into Three axes, starting with clarifying the concept and philosophy of the dual and unified judicial system, and clarifying the judicial system in the Sultanate of Oman under the dual judicial system during the previous era, and the transition to the unified system in the current stage. We also shed light on the national experiences of the unified judicial system by tracing the nature of the administrative judiciary and its substantive and procedural legislation in the courts in light of its emergence and development until our contemporary reality.
Learning Outcome
  • Developing the capabilities of legal and interested researchers, by clarifying the philosophy of the dual and unified judicial systems.
  • Legislative and judicial authorities should be guided by the national experiences of the unified judicial system in legislative aspects and practical application.
  • Working to urge researchers and those interested in general in the field of law to study the experience of the transformation of the judicial system in the Sultanate of Oman into a unified system, in the substantive and procedural aspect, as the experience of transformation is still recent.
