Sohar University received its Institutional Accreditation Certificate from the Oman Authority for Quality Assurance of Education (OAQA), reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence in higher education. The certificate was presented on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, in the presence of His Excellency Professor Mahad bin Saeed bin Ali Baawain, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the OAAAQA Board of Directors, and Her Excellency Dr. Jokha bint Abdullah Al Shukaili, President of OAQA. Representatives of the University were Mr. Hassan bin Ehsan Al Naseeb, Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors; Mr. Jamal Said Al Ojaili, Chairman of the Board of Governors; and Dr. Hamdan Sulaiman Al Fazari, Vice-Chancellor of the University.
