As part of its commitment to supporting education and developing the capabilities of young learners, Sohar University launched its Summer Program for School Students under the patronage of Mr. Ali Al Maqbali, Director of Financial Affairs at the University, on 5 July 2026. The launch ceremony was attended by members of the University’s academic and administrative staff, as well as participating students and their parents. The program will continue until 23 July 2026.
The program is designed for school students from Grade 5 to Grade 12 and offers a comprehensive package of educational, training, and recreational activities. It aims to meet the needs of different age groups while developing their knowledge and skills within an engaging and interactive learning environment.
The program includes a range of training courses in English language, mathematics, and computer skills, in addition to specialized workshops on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Health and Safety. These activities are designed to equip students with modern knowledge and practical skills that align with the demands of the contemporary world, while fostering creative thinking and enhancing both personal and technical competencies.
The University emphasized that the program forms part of its annual plan to make productive use of the summer vacation by offering high-quality educational initiatives that help students develop their skills, nurture their talents, and promote a culture of lifelong learning. The program also seeks to contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals capable of meeting future challenges.
The initiative reflects Sohar University’s commitment to strengthening its community role through educational and training programs that prepare a creative and highly capable generation. It also supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by contributing to the development of a knowledge-based society and human capital through effective partnerships with educational and community institutions.
