SU researchers are listed as 2% of the world’s top scientists

Sohar University is thrilled to announce the inclusion of four of its researchers into the list of World’s top 2% scientists published on 4th October 2023. This recognition is testament to the quality of researchers at Sohar University who are at the frontiers of knowledge production and contributing to various aspects of the Oman Vision 2040. Further, this reflects the availability of world-class researchers at the University leading critical enquiry of different problems faced by humanity as embedded into the different research, teaching and learning processes of the University.

Dr. Mostafa Ghasemi Baboli has been listed for the fourth time in the list of Authors Career. He is currently an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Sohar University. He has also previously worked at University Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and the National University of Malaysia (UKM). He has published high impact journals, books and chapters in prestigious outlets such as Elsevier. His focus of research is desalination of brackish water and wastewater treatment by microbial fuel cells.

Dr. Rajamohan Natarajan has been listed for the first time in the list of Authors Singler. He is currently Professor of Chemical Engineering at Sohar University actively leading the Environmental Research Theme at Sohar University. He researches on Novel technologies for pollution control, Biofiltration, Biofuels, Carbon capture and Sustainable food technology. He has published more than 135 high-impact research articles in various international journals.

Dr Usama Al-Mulali is an Associate Professor at Sohar University. He has been listed for the fourth time in the two lists: Authors Career and Singler). He has previously worked at University of Sains Malaysia, Multimedia University and University of Technology Malaysia focusing on applied aspects of econometrics.  He has published more than 85 high impact journals.

Hussein A Kazem is a Professor at Sohar University. He has been listed five times in the two lists: Authors Career and Singler. He has worked in different universities for more than 20 years. His research interests lie in renewable energy and power electronics/quality. He has published more than 230 scientific publications in different journals of high repute and conferences. He has also been significantly involved in postgraduate supervision.
