As part of its appreciation for national talents and its commitment to highlighting the role of its graduates in supporting various vital sectors, Sohar University honored its alumni working in the industrial sector in conjunction with the celebrations of International Workers’ Day, under the theme Our Alumni: Ambassadors of Knowledge and Excellence. The event was held on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, at the headquarters of Madayn Sohar. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Mr. Ahmed bin Salem Al Hajri, Director General of the Directorate General of Labour in North Al Batinah Governorate.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening its connection with alumni and celebrating their professional contributions to the labor market, particularly within the industrial sector, which is considered one of the key pillars of economic development.
The event program included a video presentation titled Sohar University alumni in the Industrial Sector, highlighting notable success stories and distinguished professional experiences of alumni. It also featured a speech by Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari, who emphasized: “This gathering is not merely a celebration, but a true embodiment of Sohar University’s mission and its role in preparing qualified national talents capable of making meaningful contributions across various development sectors, foremost among them the industrial sector, which represents a fundamental pillar of economic growth.”
This was followed by a speech from the representative of Madayn Sohar, Eng. Abdullah Al Mayyasi, who highlighted the important role of national competencies in driving productivity and innovation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University honored its distinguished graduates in recognition of their contributions and remarkable achievements, while also reinforcing their ongoing connection with their alma mater. The recognition reflected the University’s pride in the successes achieved by its graduates across different fields.
