A workshop at Sohar University to enhance awareness of the “Ejaad” platform and support the quality of scientific research

Ejaad Platform Workshop

In collaboration with Sohar University, the Ejaad Team of the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA) organized a specialized workshop on 9th April 2026 targeting researchers and academics. The workshop aimed to introduce the Ejaad platform and enhance opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between the academic and private sectors.

The workshop raised awareness of the importance of the Ejaad platform as one of the national initiatives contributing to linking scientific research outputs with the needs of various sectors, thereby supporting innovation and enhancing the utilization of knowledge in serving development.

The workshop covered several key topics: Ms. Hajar Al Balushi delivered an introductory presentation on the Ejaad platform, highlighting its objectives, mechanism of operation, and its role in supporting research collaboration between academic institutions and the private sector. She further explained the application process and how to benefit from available research opportunities.

Mr. Waleed Al Saeedi’s presentation focused on improving the quality of research proposals submitted through the Ejaad platform, shedding light on the key standards and practices that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of research projects and increasing their chances of acceptance and funding.

The workshop witnessed notable engagement from participants, who discussed several challenges and opportunities related to developing applied research, and explored the importance of strengthening research partnerships to achieve added value for the Omani economy.

This workshop comes as part of joint efforts to strengthen the research ecosystem in the Sultanate of Oman and to empower researchers to benefit from national platforms that support innovation, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040’s direction toward building a knowledge-based economy.
