The Student Academic Support Unit at Sohar University organized the closing ceremony of the Arabic for Beginners Program, which is part of the community-oriented initiatives aimed at serving the wider community and promoting cultural communication through teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Awadh Ali Al Mamari, Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, and was attended by a number of academic and administrative staff members, university affiliates, and program participants.
The ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech highlighting the importance of the program in enhancing participants’ Arabic language skills and its role in fostering cultural and intellectual communication, while promoting values of understanding and connection among different cultures through learning the Arabic language.
The program instructors, Dr. Ali Al Manei and Dr. Sherif Elgayyar, also delivered a speech in which they reviewed the program’s objectives, key milestones, and major achievements accomplished during its implementation. They praised the participants’ engagement and enthusiasm in benefiting from the program’s academic and practical content.
The ceremony also included a special segment featuring participants who shared their experiences and reflections on the program.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the participants and program instructors were honored in recognition of their efforts and valuable contributions to the success of the program and the achievement of its objectives. This program comes as part of the efforts of the Student Academic Support Unit to provide educational and training initiatives aimed at developing language skills and promoting a learning environment that encourages cultural communication and engagement both within and beyond the university.
