Sohar University organized a ceremony to honor outstanding students in activities, winners of the Holy Qur’an Competition, students who achieved advanced positions in local and international competitions, and members of the Student Advisory Council. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor of Sohar University, in recognition of their achievements and valuable contributions to enriching university life and fostering a culture of excellence and creativity on campus.
The ceremony was attended by members of the academic and administrative staff, as well as students. During the event, the University celebrated a distinguished group of students who excelled in various cultural, academic, social, and sporting fields. Winners of the Holy Qur’an Competition were also recognized in appreciation of their dedication and excellence in memorizing the Holy Qur’an.
The recognition further included members of the judging committees, members of the Student Advisory Council, and students who secured advanced positions in local and international competitions during the academic year. The awards reflected appreciation for their efforts and contributions to supporting student engagement and fostering a university environment that encourages participation, innovation, and excellence.
On this occasion, Dr. Saif Al Hinai, Manager of Student Activities Department, delivered a speech in which he stated:
“This recognition is not merely a celebration of temporary achievements; rather, it is an appreciation of a journey marked by hard work, perseverance, initiative, and the belief that student activities are an essential partner in shaping a well-rounded university personality, developing skills, nurturing talents, and strengthening the values of leadership, belonging, and responsibility.”
He added:
“What you have achieved today is only the beginning of further successes. Continue your journey of excellence, hold firmly to your ambition and creativity, and let your achievements inspire you to build a brighter future for yourselves and for our great nation.”
The University emphasized that this recognition reflects its commitment to encouraging students to excel academically, culturally, and as leaders, while promoting the values of creativity, initiative, and active participation. Such efforts contribute to building well-rounded individuals capable of making positive contributions to society.
The ceremony also highlighted Sohar University’s commitment to student activities as an integral part of the university experience and their role in developing students’ skills, nurturing their talents, and enhancing their leadership and communication abilities. It also reinforces religious and national values that contribute to preparing a generation that is aware, responsible, and distinguished. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University congratulated all honorees on their achievements and wished them continued success and excellence.
