Sohar University has achieved a significant milestone by being featured in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 in three key disciplines: Business & Management Studies, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Computer Science.
In this prestigious global ranking, Sohar University has been recognized as the number one private higher education institution in Oman in all three subjects. The university has secured a position among the world’s top 500 universities for Business & Management Studies and Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and within the world’s top 600 universities for Computer Science. This remarkable achievement highlights Sohar University’s growing global reputation for academic excellence, impactful research, and high-quality education across diverse disciplines.
Commenting on the accomplishment, the Vice Chancellor of Sohar University, Dr Hamdan Al Fazari, stated that this recognition is a testament to the quality education and academic standards upheld by the university. He emphasized that the ranking reflects the dedication of the university’s faculty members, researchers, students, and staff who continuously strive for excellence. He added that, this recognition reinforces Sohar University’s commitment to advancing education, innovation, and research while strengthening its position as a leading higher education institution in Oman and the wider region. The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude for the continued support received from the Ministry of Education, the Board of Directors and the Board of Governors, and all business partners, as without their support this would not have been possible, promising further progress and advancement for the university.
