As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance professional skills and improve the efficiency of its workforce, Al-Masar Institute at Sohar University organized a specialized workshop titled “The Art of Etiquette and Protocol for Organizing Events and Conferences” on April 23–24, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The workshop was led by Dr. Yusuf Al-Hasani, an expert in etiquette and international protocol. It targeted public relations staff and event organizers, aiming to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to operate professionally in line with the highest international standards.
The workshop covered several key topics, including: An introduction to etiquette, protocol, and personal prestige. In addition to the art of greeting and welcoming, Principles of organizing events according to official protocol, and the guidelines for choosing appropriate formal attire for official occasions. Moreover, sending official invitations, and Protocol for engaging with media during official events and coverage.
Participants showed great engagement, benefiting from hands-on training and discussions with the presenter, who provided real-life scenarios to reinforce learning and practical experience.
This workshop aligns with the strategic vision of Sohar University and Al-Masar Institute to upgrade the competencies of professional staff and develop their abilities in accordance with modern global practices in public relations and event management. Ultimately, it supports the enhancement of the university’s institutional image and the achievement of excellence in performance.
