Ufuq Initiative

In collaboration with the Career Guidance and Alumni Services , Sohar University Alumni Association has launched the first edition of the “Ufuq” initiative. This sustainable development initiative aims to boost graduates’ competencies and improve their readiness for the job market.

The three-day initiative took place on campus, with the participation of 30 graduates from various academic specializations. Its activities included nine interactive training workshops that combined theoretical knowledge with practical application. These sessions were delivered by a selection of experienced university alumni, along with specialists from the Ministry of Labor and external organizations, which added diversity and depth to the content.

The program covered several key areas, including: strategic career planning, professional resume writing, professional IQ tests, and mechanisms for applying for jobs and following up on applications. The workshops also addressed emotional intelligence skills in the workplace, confident public speaking, and effective preparation for personal interviews. Participants were also trained on team building and collaborative work, in addition to professionally using the LinkedIn platform to build a distinct digital professional identity.

This initiative is part of the university’s efforts to empower its graduates, equipping them with the skills and knowledge that enhance their employment opportunities and meet the demands of both local and international job markets.
