Third International Trip to Russia for Outstanding Students

Sohar University’s third international trip for distinguished students has commenced. This is part of an annual programme that aims to appreciate the  high-achieving students and broaden their academic and cultural horizons by exposing them to leading international experiences. The student delegation has travelled to the Russian Federation for an 11-day visit, during which participants will learn about a number of prominent cultural, historical, and scientific landmarks.

The programme includes a visit to the capital, Moscow, where the delegation will tour the Red Square, Zaryadye Park, and the GUM department store, in addition to the uniquely styled Saint Basil’s Cathedral.

The visit also comprises a tour of the Moscow Grand Mosque, the Victory Museum, and the famous Arbat Street, alongside a visit to the VDNKh exhibition centre to see the Aviation and Space Pavilion. The itinerary further includes a visit to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and Moscow’s famous train station, offering students the opportunity to learn about the key landmarks that have shaped Russian history.

The trip’s academic programme involves visits to two of Russia’s most prestigious universities: the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow and Saint Petersburg State University. This is intended to foster cultural and knowledge exchange between Sohar University and international academic institutions.

This visit underscores the university’s commitment to providing integrated educational experiences that contribute to honing students’ skills and expanding their perspectives, thereby enhancing the student experience and enriching their academic and personal journey.
