Sohar University inaugurated its induction Program for new students for the academic year 2025/2026, in an atmosphere filled with excitement and optimism. The two-day program is designed to familiarize students with their new university environment and enable them to make the most of the academic services, resources, and extracurricular opportunities provided by the university.
The program commenced with a documentary film highlighting the university’s mission, achievements, and key academic and support facilities. This was followed by a welcoming address delivered by Dr. Hamdan bin Suleiman Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor of Sohar University, who advice the students to make the best use of their university years to acquire knowledge, refine their skills, and enhance their career prospects.
The sessions featured a presentation by a distinguished student who shared his academic journey, alongside a speech by the representative of the Student Advisory Council, who highlighted the council’s role in supporting and representing students.
In addition, students were introduced to a range of essential services, including academic advising, admissions and registration, learning resources center, IT support, and student policies. The accompanying exhibition showcased non-academic services such as student support and extracurricular activities, communication and marketing, health, safety and environment, financial services, as well as Career Guidance Services.
This initiative reflects Sohar University’s commitment to creating a comprehensive learning environment that fosters student integration into university life, supporting their academic and personal growth from the very first day of their journey at the university.
