Sohar University Enhances Digital Transformation Through Internal System Automation

Contracts Department at Sohar University, in collaboration with relevant departments, organized a training workshop for all users of the Procurement and Contracts System. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to new enhancements and modern procedures that have been implemented to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance transparency in transactions.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Badr bin Saeed Al Zaabi, Director of the Procurement and Contracts Department, who provided an overview of the automation processes and recent updates introduced to the procurement, contracts, and inventory systems. He also highlighted mechanisms for asset registration, tracking, and service booking management, emphasizing that these improvements will significantly contribute to expediting requests and enhancing user experience within the university.

Eng. Ibrahim bin Salem Al Farsi, Director of the IT Department, stated that these updates mark a major step in Sohar University’s digital transformation journey. He explained that the newly automated processes accelerate workflows and integrate various university systems, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and facilitating seamless information exchange between departments.

Additionally, Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Maamari, Deputy Director of Finance, emphasized the importance of financial integration with the procurement system, noting that this connection ensures smoother financial transactions, improves tracking, enhances financial accuracy, and guarantees the highest levels of transparency and governance in resource management.

This workshop is part of the university’s comprehensive digital transformation strategy, which seeks to automate processes, improve the digital work environment, and ensure greater efficiency, speed, and accuracy in transaction execution. Through this initiative, Sohar University reaffirms its leadership in adopting the latest technologies to enhance institutional innovation and elevate the quality of services offered to its academic and administrative community.
