Sohar University has organised a specialised workshop entitled “Procurement and Contracts Policies, Procedures, and Implementation Mechanism”. The session was delivered by Mr. Bader Al Zaabi, the Director of the Procurement and Contracts Department, and was organised by the Human Resources Department in collaboration with the Finance and Information Technology services departments.
The workshop was designed to boost corporate awareness of procurement and contracts policies and to clarify the associated administrative and financial procedures. It also aimed to discuss the implementation mechanism to ensure increased institutional efficiency, transparency, and adherence to quality standards.
The workshop saw widespread participation from various university faculties, departments, and divisions. It reviewed policies related to materials identification, supplier registration and approval, requests and tenders, contracts, ticket bookings, asset management services, and disposal mechanisms, with a particular focus on the principles of sustainable procurement.
The organisers confirmed that this event is part of the university’s drive towards institutional transformation and improving resource efficiency. This will help to create an effective working environment that supports Sohar University’s strategic objectives.
