Occupational Safety and Health Forum 2025

Sohar University Launches Master of Education in Education Studies to Enhance Educational and Leadership Competencies

The Occupational Safety and Health Forum will kick off on the morning of Wednesday, April 30, under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization: Our Path to a Safer Work Environment.” The event is organized by the Social Protection Fund, represented by the North Al Batinah Governorate Office, in collaboration with Sohar University, which will also host the forum. The theme aligns with the one launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO) for this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work, celebrated globally on April 28.

The organizers aim to raise awareness about the significance of this international occasion and its relevance to workplaces around the world. The forum seeks to highlight the importance of occupational safety and health and the development of safety skills through practical experiences that will be showcased in working papers presented by various government entities and private sector companies. The forum will also include an accompanying exhibition featuring eight organizations from different sectors.

It is worth noting that North Al Batinah Governorate is home to major economic projects, including Sohar Port and the Free Zone, and Suhar Industrial City, which employ a large number of both Omani citizens and residents. This event serves as a platform to promote a culture of safety among workers and discuss improvements in workplace environments, particularly through the use of AI and digital technologies that contribute to creating safer and smarter workspaces.

The forum is expected to witness the presence of a large number of officials from both public and private sectors, as well as experts and stakeholders from across various industries.
