IDHKA Group has signed a partnership agreement with Sohar University to support innovation and empower students in the fields of entrepreneurship and startups. The agreement was signed during the 34th edition of the COMEX 2025 exhibition, reflecting the commitment of both institutions to build strategic partnerships that contribute to a knowledge-based economy, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The agreement was signed by Engineer Said Al Mandhari, CEO of IDHKA Group, and Dr Hamdan Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor of Sohar University, in the presence of officials from both institutions.
The agreement focuses on fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among university students and providing a practical environment to transform their creative ideas into viable projects through technical, advisory, and financial support. The partnership also includes organizing specialized events, such as workshops, mentoring sessions, demo days, and innovation competitions, which will enhance young people’s skills and connect educational outcomes with the needs of the job market.
Engineer Said Al Mandhari, CEO of IDHKA Group, affirmed that this partnership is a significant step in IDHKA Group’s mission to empower young Omanis in the technology and innovation sectors. He noted that the group will provide the necessary expertise and investment opportunities to turn promising ideas into startups that contribute to diversifying the national economy. “At IDHKA Group, we believe that investing in young minds is an investment in Oman’s future, and this agreement reflects our commitment to fostering the Sultanate’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he added.
For his part, Dr Hamdan Al Fazari explained that the agreement is part of Sohar University’s strategy to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students to support the Sultanate’s development.
The terms of the agreement stipulate that the two parties will cooperate in organizing joint events and training programs. Sohar University will provide the academic environment and logistical support to host the initiatives, while IDHKA Group will be responsible for evaluating promising ideas and projects according to its approved criteria, with the possibility of adopting or funding them. The group will also offer expertise and consultation to ensure these projects align with market requirements. The agreement also includes developing capacity-building programmes and leadership skills for young people, which will enhance the sustainability of the collaboration between the two parties.
Both sides concluded by emphasising that this agreement represents a pivotal step towards supporting young Omanis, expanding their participation in the technology and entrepreneurship sectors, and establishing a practical model for integration between the academic and investment sectors to serve national development.
