Sohar University celebrated the graduation of 954 students from the Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program on Monday evening, 1 December 2025. This ceremony marked the first of the University’s two graduation events for the 24th batch of the Academic Year 2024/2025. The event was held on campus under the patronage of Mr. Jamal Al-Ojaili, Chairperson of the University’s Board of Governor, in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, dignitaries, faculty members, students, and parents.
The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari, Vice Chancellor of the University, who stated:
“On this blessed day, Sohar University is honored to celebrate the graduation of 954 students from the Diploma in Teacher Preparation Program, as part of the 24th batch of Sohar University graduation ceremony. Today, we proudly send a new batch of teachers who are equipped with the power of knowledge and education, and who have refined the skills that will enable them to perform their duties with excellence”.
This was followed by the graduates’ speech, delivered on behalf of her peers by Hafsah Al-Raisi, she remarked:
“Standing here this evening, on the stage of achievement and at the doorstep of graduation, I speak with pride on behalf of my fellow graduates. Today, we gather in joy to celebrate the fruits of a journey that extended over an entire academic year—a journey filled with effort, hope, and dreams that grew with us day by day. Here we stand to conclude this chapter, pledging to God and to our beloved nation that we will remain dedicated and persistent as we continue contributing to the development and progress of this generous country, inspired by the noble vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik—may God protect him. Our heartfelt thanks go to this distinguished academic institution and to all faculty and administrative members for their support throughout this remarkable academic year”.
Following the speeches, the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts announced the beginning of the graduation honors, after which the guest of honor distributed certificates and recognized outstanding graduates.
This ceremony is part of Sohar University’s larger celebrations for the 24th batch, which will continue throughout the week and include the second graduation ceremony for students from academic programs across the University’s six faculties.
