The workshop explains to students the challenges of subscribing to various social media platforms, which offer several free services to users. Registering on these platforms means accepting the terms set by these websites, including jurisdiction clauses that grant authority to non-national courts in case of disputes. We will explain to students how the implementation of this clause affects the rights and obligations of users and how they may lose ownership of any ideas or digital content they upload to these networks in favor of these companies
