Dr Maisoon Al Masri
Biography
Dr. Maisoon Abdul Wahab Al Masri received her PhD in Law, Banking, and Stock Exchange Business in 2010 from the University of Paris I – Sorbonne, France, with the Highest Honor and Congratulations distinction. She has extensive teaching experience across various branches of law, particularly in Business Law, Banking Law, and Financial Markets and Securities.Before joining Sohar University in 2024, Dr. Maisoon served as a Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Securities and Financial Markets Authority in Damascus, Syria, from 2018 to 2024. In 2023, she was promoted to Professor in the Commercial Law Department at the Faculty of Law, Damascus University.
Since 2010, Dr. Maisoon has taught at several prestigious universities in Syria, including Damascus University, Open University Education, Syrian Virtual University, Al-Sham Private University, and Arab International University. She has published extensively in the fields of traditional and Islamic banking and stock exchange securities and has authored three books on commercial law and banking legislation. Dr. Maisoon has actively participated in numerous scientific conferences, seminars, training courses, and workshops. She has also supervised several doctoral and master’s theses and contributed to the discussion and evaluation of many others.
