Dr Al Fazari started his paper by highlighting the importance of the conference theme. He then stated that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education (HE) offers immense promise in transforming the educational landscape, particularly in the Arab states. He further stated that AI has the potential to bring a massive paradigm shift in HE, offering new opportunities for personalized learning, improved student outcomes, and enhanced teaching practices, as well as enhancing students’ research nexus. He added that his paper examines the transformative potential of AI in HE in the Arab states, exploring the ways in which AI-powered tools and platforms can revolutionize teaching and learning processes, and improve student experiences. He also explained that by leveraging AI technologies, educational institutions can create adaptive learning environments, provide students with personalized feedback, and support educators in developing innovative teaching methods. The paper examined the current landscape of AI in HE, highlighting the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of AI into educational settings, the ethics of AI, AI and the job market, and the readiness of Arab states to enter the AI era.

Dr Al Fazari summarized his paper by stating that it is to be noted that based on the main role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in providing their students with the best knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the labor market, and to enhance this aspect, some Arab states have already adopted AI techniques in their educational offerings and administrative processes. Dr Al Fazari concluded his paper by stating that; HEIs are currently seeking to employ programs and specializations that serve the requirements of the labor market, that are consistent with technical and technological development, and that keep pace with AI and digital transformation. By embracing AI technologies and best practices, Arab universities can position themselves as leaders in the AI era and provide a world-class education that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
