Sohar University concluded the 2025 Training Fair yesterday, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, after three days of activities under the theme “Career Opportunities and Entrepreneurial Initiatives.” The event witnessed significant participation from university students and graduates, as well as attendees from outside the university, alongside a number of institutions from both the public and private sectors.
The fair was distinguished by the presence of a diverse group of companies and organizations offering various training opportunities, with a total of 183 training placements announced for students and graduates. This milestone reflects the success of the fair in achieving its objectives—enhancing students’ readiness for the job market, enriching their practical experience, and expanding their professional networks.
The closing ceremony commenced with a visual display introducing Sohar University, followed by the university’s address delivered by Maryam Saleh ALSibili, a visual display on the training fair 2025 was then showcased, highlighting the fair’s key moments and achievements over the three days.
This was followed by a panel discussion: “Shaping the Future: Integrating Career Opportunities and Entrepreneurial Initiatives”, where a group of experts and professionals discussed the importance of integrating employment opportunities with entrepreneurship. They also explored the challenges and opportunities available to Omani youth. The event concluded with an honoring ceremony recognizing the participating institutions and supporting organizations.
With the conclusion of this successful event, Sohar University continues to strengthen its role in bridging the gap between education and the job market. Through initiatives like the Training Fair, the university remains committed to providing a comprehensive learning experience that supports sustainable development and aligns with Oman Vision 2040.
