The Software Engineering programme combines together widespread practical and theoretical knowledge in the development and management of large computing systems, with practical knowledge from industries that are using these new technologies with a special focus on business development and entrepreneurship.

The main aim of this programme is to produce skillful and talented graduates able to enter a wide variety of high in demand software engineering areas. It is clear that software engineering based industries will play a major role in the future development and economy of the Sultanate of Oman.

Software Engineering is a career oriented specialized programme suitable for students who are interested in the general area of designing, developing, testing and maintaining software. The degree can result in interesting and wide employment opportunities which include, for instance, Software Designer, software developer, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Project Manager, System manager, System engineer, Application service architect, etc. In addition, the graduates of the programme can enroll in innovation and consultancy companies or start their own IT company/business.

Completed the General Education Diploma in Oman, or equivalent, (formerly Secondary School Completion Certificate).

    • Students who completed GFP English component successfully, but not completed GFP Mathematics and IC3 courses successfully , can be enrolled in half load in the first year of the academic program.
