A Bachelor's degree program in Law is offered and taught in Arabic. Learning at the Faculty of Law goes beyond the traditional classroom experience. The faculty features a fully equipped on-campus Moot Court, where students engage in simulated legal proceedings to develop strong legal advocacy skills. In addition, students visit actual courts to observe real cases, helping them understand how classroom learning is applied in professional legal settings. This ongoing connection with the legal field ensures that the Faculty of Law’s curriculum remains aligned with current legal challenges and practices.

The Bachelor of Law program at Sohar University aims to:

  • Equip students with the legal qualifications required for careers across administrative, economic, and social sectors.
  • Develop analytical skills necessary for solving legal problems and formulating effective solutions.
  • Provide a solid theoretical foundation to address issues related to modern commercial and economic transactions.
  • Prepare legal professionals capable of conducting academic research and legal analysis to support the development of Omani legislation.
  • Instill ethical values, independent thinking, and teamwork in graduates through a strong grounding in legal theory and comparative legal systems, enabling them to serve Omani society effectively.

Graduates who hold a degree awarded by the Faculty of Law are qualified to practice law, but they also possess knowledge and skills that can be applied across a wide range of professions. For example: Many companies seek legal professionals to serve as compliance officers, ensuring that business operations and accounting practices align with legal and regulatory requirements. Insurance companies often employ law graduates for their strong attention to detail and negotiation skills. Major retailers and corporate entities value legal professionals who can provide insights into contracts, policies, and customer protection laws. Publishing houses and media organizations regularly consult or hire legal experts to review content for accuracy, defamation risk, and compliance with publishing laws. In addition to traditional legal roles, law graduates are well-positioned for advisory, consultancy, and policy-making positions in both public and private sectors. A law degree should be regarded not as an endpoint but as a launchpad for diverse and evolving career paths.
