About the Center
The Arabic Language Centre at Sohar University was established in 2012 to teach Arabic to non-native speakers. The Centre is dedicated to offering Arabic language courses and attracts students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Its mission is to enhance Arabic language skills among learners of various nationalities and cultures, thereby contributing to the broader dissemination and teaching of the Arabic language.
The Centre strives to create a welcoming social environment beyond the academic curriculum, encouraging students to engage with the Arab community and immerse themselves in Omani culture. It actively welcomes learners from different age groups, fostering intellectual diversity and promoting a rich atmosphere of cultural exchange.
In addition to academic courses, the Centre organizes cultural events, workshops, and academic seminars that enrich the students’ overall experience and deepen their understanding of the significance of Arabic in the modern world. Ongoing academic and advisory support is also provided throughout their studies to help students achieve both their educational and personal goals.

I am glad I have just finished my studies at Sohar University. I have had a wonderful time here, I made a really good progress in my level of Arabic thanks to the unfailing support of my teachers and my colleagues. My stay in Oman was a good opportunity for me to learn about the Arab culture in general and the Omani society in particular. I wish Oman more peace and prosperity.
ZHANG – YUCHEN
My experience at Sohar University and the Omani community was really interesting and I felt at home. We very much enjoyed our time and trips to Muscat, Omani coasts and castles. The Islamic and Arab civilization was just amazing. We are so grateful to Sohar University for providing us with the opportunity to learn about many aspects of Omani culture.
