Publication Ethics
For Editors
- The SUJSB editorial team has the authority to either accept or reject manuscripts that are submitted to the journal.
- The editors must exert their utmost efforts to uphold the integrity of the journal.
- The editing staff must give priority to integrity and timeliness in their work.
- It is the editors' responsibility to guarantee that papers are assigned to trustworthy reviewers who possess the relevant expertise and who will provide prompt assessment of manuscripts.
- The editors are to check for any potential conflicts of interest between authors and reviewers and guarantee that the review process is fair.
- Evaluations will be conducted entirely on the manuscript's content, regardless of the authors' background, ethnicity, religion, politics, socio-economic status, or institutional affiliations.
- The editors are required to reveal any possible conflicts of interest pertaining to manuscripts submitted to the SUJSB.
- All information and communication regarding submitted manuscripts will be treated as confidential and will only be disclosed to authors and reviewers.
- Editors are prohibited from utilizing unpublished data for personal benefit or research purposes.
- The editorial team is responsible for dealing with any misconduct in the publication process and taking appropriate action.
- The editorial team will provide regular information to authors regarding the review and publication processes.
For Reviewers
- Reviewers are responsible for aiding the editorial team in determining whether to accept or reject a submission.
- Reviewers who are unable to review the paper within the given timeframe should notify the editor immediately.
- Reviewers should refuse to assess papers that they consider unrelated to their research interests or outside the scope of their competence.
- Manuscripts submitted for review must be regarded as confidential materials and should not be shared for any reason. The Reviewers are required to report any ethical concerns to the editors.
- The Reviews should be impartial, justified – supported by evidence, and aimed at enhancing the quality of the manuscript content.
- Reviewers should promptly disclose any potential conflict of interest upon receiving a review request.
For Authors
- Authors are required to verify that the submission to SUJSB is an original piece of work.
- Authors must state any conflict of interest at the time of submitting the manuscript.
- Authors must explicitly disclose the funding agencies involved and any potential impact they may have on the research.
- Prior to carrying out any study, authors must obtain informed consent from all participants/respondents.
- Authors should ensure that no information is disclosed that infringes upon the privacy of the respondents.
- Authors should use inclusive language that respects diversity and avoids excluding any segment of society.
- The corresponding author has the duty of ensuring that all authors have reviewed and endorsed the final version of the manuscript and have given their agreement for its submission to SUJSB.
- It is anticipated that all authors who have been informed to SUJSB during the submission process have reached an agreement over the list and sequence of authors.
- The authors bear the responsibility for the content they submit to SUJSB, and all author(s) (if there are numerous) shall be held liable for any misconduct.
- Authors are required to inform the editors if they discover any substantial errors in their works.
- The manuscripts submitted to SUJSB must not be published elsewhere or be under consideration for publication in any other academic platform simultaneously.
- Publications that are based on or derived from any previously published presentation, lecture, or academic thesis can be submitted, provided that a proper recognition of prior publication in any of the aforementioned forms is included.
- It is expected that the authors will acknowledge and cite the relevant sources of information. Prior consent should be obtained, if necessary, before citing ideas or words that are not the original work of the writers.
