Authorship

Authorship should be accurately reflected in the submitted manuscript, and no alterations to authorship will be accepted after submission unless necessary corrections are justified and documented.

Submission, Publication, and Processing Fees

SUJSB does not require payment for manuscript submission, processing, or publication. The journal's operating costs are funded by Sohar University Oman, ensuring free access to all published content.

Permissions and Consent

When submitting a manuscript, authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for reused material and ensuring ethical practices in the conduct and reporting of their research. Informed consent must be obtained for all identifiable individual data included in the manuscript and submitted to the editorial office during the submission process.

Data access and retention

Authors may be requested to furnish the dataset related to a manuscript for editorial validation. Additionally, they should be ready to offer public access to such data whenever necessary. Regardless, authors are also instructed and anticipated to preserve such data for a fair duration, after the publication of their manuscript.

MISCONDUCT

Plagiarism Policy

SUJSB strongly prohibits all forms of plagiarism and the submission of duplicate work. We strongly advise authors to thoroughly review their manuscripts before submission. It should be emphasized that articles received by SUJSB undergo a similarity check using Turnitin. The editorial team of SUJSB will reject any manuscript that contains plagiarism at any point prior to the article's publication. If plagiarism is detected after the article has been published, it will be retracted and the respective author(s) will be promptly notified.

Policy on data inaccuracies

SUJSB has a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct, including citation manipulation, data fabrication, and data falsification. Authors are encouraged to meticulously prepare their manuscripts to prevent any potential errors. If the editorial team becomes aware of any such issues during  the publication process, the manuscript will be returned to the author(s). The acceptance of the paper may be altered based on the severity and significance of the issue being evaluated. Upon receiving any complaints or allegations subsequent to the publication of the article, SUJSB will conduct a thorough verification process. If the claims are substantiated, a corrigendum or retraction will be issued. The author(s) will be promptly informed of the outcome.

Duplicate and Simultaneous Manuscript Submissions Policy

Authors are required to refrain from publishing the same manuscript in multiple journals or other forms of publication, such as books or chapters. Furthermore, engaging in the simultaneous submission of identical manuscripts to multiple journals is considered unethical and has the potential to influence editorial judgments. Prior to submission, the author must notify the editorial board if the manuscript has been presented at any conference or symposium, or if it has been derived from another academic work, such as a thesis.

Conflicts of interest Policy

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and the involvement of funding agencies (if applicable) when submitting their manuscript. Editors with a conflict of interest regarding a submitted manuscript are prohibited from participating in its review or decision-making process.

Policy on Grievances/Complaints

The SUJSB editorial team is readily available to address any complaints concerning misconduct  by authors, reviewers, or editors. Complaints can be submitted via email (sujsb@su.edu.om) or the postal address provided in SUJSB’s contact information. The identities of complainants will be kept confidential. Those expressing dissatisfaction will be granted the opportunity to respond to any complaints or accusations received by the publication.

Policy on Appeals

SUJSB recognizes the authors' right to challenge any decision made by the editorial staff regarding the approval of the submission or the measures taken in response to any reported misbehavior. All appeals will be meticulously handled, and the appellant will be promptly advised of the judgment within a maximum of two months.

Withdrawal policy

Authors are able to withdraw their manuscript from SUJSB without incurring any costs or penalties within a period of seven business days. Once an article enters the peer-review process, it may not be possible to retract it unless there are compelling reasons to do so. The decision to withdraw the article will be made by the editorial board. In certain circumstances, the author may face charges for the withdrawal penalty. Withdrawal requests will only be accepted if they are submitted by the corresponding author, who is responsible for consulting with the co-authors prior to submission. The submission should be regarded and handled as 'withdrawn' solely upon receipt of an official notification of withdrawal from SUJSB. All communication on this matter shall be sent by email to sujsb@su.edu.om.

Data Archiving Policy

To guarantee the enduring digital preservation of all published academic work, SUJSB submits its journals' content to Crossref.org. Furthermore, all content published in SUJSB will be archived in three different repositories, including the primary database of Sohar University Oman.
