Mr. Ali Mohammed Al Ghaithi
Biography
Ali Al Ghaithi is an English Lecturer in the Faculty of Language Studies at Sohar University in Oman, where he joined in January 2026 and teaches undergraduate students. He holds a Master of Applied Linguistics from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Bachelor of Education in English Language from University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Rustaq. Prior to his current position, he worked for several years as an English Lecturer in the General Foundation Program at Sohar University and at the International College of Engineering and Management, where he taught foundation-level and IELTS courses, supported curriculum and assessment tasks, and contributed to academic quality assurance and research activities. His research interests focus on Applied Linguistics and language teaching methodologies, with particular emphasis on technology-enhanced language learning, vocabulary acquisition, writing instruction, speaking skills, learner autonomy, and digital storytelling.
With a strong background in teaching and research, Al Ghaithi is particularly interested in how digital tools can enhance English language learning in higher education. His work explores technology-mediated approaches to improve learners’ vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking, motivation, and self-regulation. Through his publications in Scopus-indexed journals, he has contributed to the field of technology-enhanced language education and developed a research profile that bridges classroom practice, learner development, and innovation in English language teaching.
In addition to his scholarly work, Al Ghaithi has been actively engaged in academic service and professional development. He has served as a member of the Sohar University validation panel, a member of the university research projects management committee, a representative of the GFP Research Committee, and a conference chair for the General Foundation Program.
