Sohar University organized a celebration on Omani Women's Day, which was on October 17. The ceremony was held in the training hall in the Learning Resources Building. On this occasion, Prof. Barry Winn, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed the attendees and congratulated the Omani woman on this day.
After that, a film was shown that reflected the role of an Omani woman in the development of the university over the past years, her contributions and presence in the various sites of the university, whether technical, academic, or administrative.
The ceremony program also included some lectures. The main speaker, Dr. Amna Al Abdasalam, highlighted her experiences, the opportunities, and the challenges during her whole career.
Finally, two papers were presented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Shibli entitled (Women in Personal Status Law) and Dr. Ashraf Mohamad Gharibeh entitled (The International Treaty CEDAW). Concurrently, Ms. Maryam Al-Hinai presented a workshop entitled (Working Women: Work—Life Balance between).
