Sohar University has signed a joint cooperation agreement with Germany-Japan DMG-MORI which is a leading company in manufacturing metal cutting machines. It also provides software solutions and systems in the advanced industries sector.
The memorandum was signed by Professor Barry Winn, the Vice Chancellor of the University and by Dr. Ugo Ghilard, DMG-MORI Division Board Member, and Mr. Stavros Bagalidis, Managing Director of DMG-MORI in the Middle East. The agreement aims to explore potential opportunities to support the transfer of technology through the establishment of the DMG-MORI training center at Sohar University. The center will provide training and career development opportunities in the field of advanced manufacturing industries and manufacturing tools for employees in the industrial sector in Oman and neighboring countries. Both the university and the company are seeking to enhance mutual cooperation over the coming years
