Sohar University started the activities of its Annual Staff Week on Sunday, Sep 8 in the presence of Mr. Jamal bin Saeed Al-Ajaili, Chairman of the University Board of Governors & University Chancellor with a great attendance of its admin and academic staff as well as management members
Prof. Barry Winn, University Vice Chancellor, welcomed staff and congratulated them on the occasion of the start of the new academic year 2019/2020. He indicated to the most important developments, achievements and statistics of the University during the last period. He also appreciated and thanked staff who have completed 20 years and 10 years serving the University with a full dedication and commitment
After that, the Chairman of the Board of Governors was invited to honor the staff who received the VC Outstanding Achievement Award for the academic year 2018/2019, they are:- Ms. Asia Jafar Al Kashri, General Foundation Program, Ms. Fawzia Ali Al Farsi, Student Affairs, Mr. Saju Abraham, General Foundation Program and Zaher Hamad Al Hosani- Human Resources and Organizational Development. Mr. Jamal also honored staff who completed 20 years of service, They are: - Mr. Mohamed Said Al Ajeeli, Projects Manager, Mr. Ali Juma Al-Khaiet, Human Resource Manager, Mr. Ali Hamdan Al Jarwani, Head of Transportation, and Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Mamari, Vice Chancellor’s Office.
It was also a great chance for 45 staff from different departments who completed 10 years of service to be honored by the University Chancellor.
The staff development week will continue to next Thursday, Sep 12. It is very rich with its lectures and training workshops in various fields which target all academic and admin staff.
