On March 2021, a number of students from the Faculty of Law visited the Courts Complex in Sohar, in the presence of Professor Hamza Edrees, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and two members of the academic staff of the Faculty of Law.
At the beginning of the visit, the students attended a trial session at the Court of Appeal, Civil Chamber, and then a trial session at the Criminal Chamber, in which they were briefed on the conduct of the hearing and oral arguments by litigants and their agents.
The scientific visit also included a dialogue session with Sheikh Dr. Saeed Al-Gharibi, President of the Court of Appeal.
The Sheikh stressed on the importance of such scientific visits to the legal students, as they will have more knowledge on legal practice, rather than only theories. He discussed also the most important problems - which the jurist might face at work - resulting from the application of certain laws, especially the Civil and Commercial Procedure Law of the year, 2002.
Students also had a guided tour to the facilities and administrative sections of the complex, trial rooms, and the library.
