In cooperation with the University, Al-Asayel for Conferences organized the third Global Forum for Young Entrepreneurs entitled “Together for a Bright Economic Future”. The forum was held on campus during 15-16 Dec. under the patronage of His Highness Sayed Firas bin Fatik bin Fahr Al Saeed. It was well attended by a great number of institutions representatives and officials from both public and private sectors.
Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, Deputy Vice Chancellor emphasized in his address that the concept of entrepreneurship is based on creativity and innovation, which are the main advantages in the growth of the economy and development in the world. It is also an approach that deviates from the traditional concept that depends on providing jobs by the government and the private sector, where entrepreneurs determine their future.
In this regard, the Ministry of Higher Education has adopted a mandatory course for entrepreneurship for students of private and governmental higher education institutions.
Al-Fazari added that the University has taken many initiatives to support the efforts of young entrepreneurs. One of those steps was establishing the Student Entrepreneurship Club- SEC in November 2013 under the supervision and monitor of Faculty of Business. It was established to encourage innovation and creativity, maximize the entrepreneurial skills of students, cultivate their talents and link them to industry and society.
