Dr Aladdin Al Zahran received his BA in English Language & Literature from Aleppo University, Syria (1999), MA in Arabic/English Translation & Interpreting (2004) and PhD in Interpreting Studies (2007) from Salford University, UK. Dr Al Zahran is currently an Assistant Professor of Interpreting and Translation Studies at Sohar University (Oman), where he has served as the Program Coordinator of the BA in English Language and Translation since September 2018. He has taught courses across the spectrum in translation, interpreting, language and linguistics. His research interests include intercultural mediation, the interpreter/translator’s role, interpreting strategies, and corpus-based interpreting/translation studies. He is also a freelance interpreter, translator, reviser, external examiner and translation consultant.
