Faculty of Education and Arts | دكتوراه الفلسفة في التربية في مناهج وطرائق التدريس | - يكون حاصلًا على درجة الماجستير في التربية من مؤسسة تعليمية معترف بها، ويكون تقديره العام عند التخرج لا يقل عن جيد جدا، أو ما يعادله بمعيار جامعة صحار.
- يقدم مخطط بحثي.
- يقدم شهادة اللغة الإنجليزية الآيلتس IELTS بتقدير 4 Band او - IBT TOEFL (30 – 31)، وألا يكون مضى عليها أكثر من سنتين.
- يجتاز المقابلة واختبار الكفاءة.
يمكن قبول المتقدم الحاصل على ماجستير الأصول والإدارة التربوية أو الحقول المرتبطة بالإدارة التربوية والعاملين بالحقل التربوي بشرط: - استيفاء جميع شروط القبول عدا التخصص.
- توفر الخبرة العملية بما لا يقل عن 4 سنوات.
- دراسة المواد التجسيرية (الاستدراكية) الآتية: طرائق تدريس متقدمة في المناهج العامة، وتخطيط المناهج وتطويرها وتقويمها.

- يمكن قبول الطالب الحاصل على بكالوريوس تربية بتقدير مقبول شرط توفر خبرة عملية لا تقل عن سنتين في مجال التخصص.
- يمكن قبول الطالب الحاصل على بكالوريوس لبعض المؤهلات غير التربوية بتقدير مقبول وأعلى بشرط:
- حصوله على دبلوم تأهيل تربوي أو ما يعادله.
- توفر خبرة في مجال التدريس لا تقل عن 4 سنوات.
- إذا لم تتوفر الخبرة المطلوبة، فيمكن قبول الطالب بتقدير لا يقل عن جيد بشرط دراسة المواد الاستدراكية التالية (في حال حصول الطالب على تقدير أقل من جيد فيمكن قبوله بشرط دراسة المواد الاستدراكية المذكورة مع وجود سنتين خبرة في مجال التدريس):
- تطبيقات علم النفس التربوي
- تكنولوجيا التعليم
- أصول التربية
- يقبل جميع الطلبة بالبرنامج بمسار المقررات والمشروع البحثي (البحث) فقط.
- تحدد لجنة الدراسات العليا بالكلية المقررات الاستدراكية - إن لزمت – عند قبول الطالب بالبرنامج.
- يسرى على المقررات الاستدراكية ما يسري على مقررات البكالوريوس ولا تحسب ضمن الخطة الدراسية للطالب بالبرنامج ويتوجب على الطالب الانتهاء من دراسة المقررات الاستدراكية بنجاح وذلك خلال الفصل الدراسي الأول من تاريخ التحاقه بالبرنامج مع إمكانية تسجيل المقرر مناهج البحث الكمية.

Faculty of Education and Arts | ماجستير في الأصول والإدارة التربوية | - أن يكون الطالب حاصلاً على بكالوريوس تربية بتقدير لا يقل عن جيد من جامعة أو كلية أو معهد معترف به أو ما يعادله على المقياس المستخدم بالجامعة.
- يمكن قبول الطالب الحاصل على بكالوريوس تربية بتقدير مقبول شرط توفر خبرة عملية لا تقل عن سنتين في مجال التخصص.
- يمكن قبول الطالب الحاصل على بكالوريوس لبعض المؤهلات غير التربوية بتقدير مقبول وأعلى بشرط:
- حصوله على دبلوم تأهيل تربوي أو ما يعادله.
- توفر خبرة في مجال التدريس أو الوظائف المساندة لها لا تقل عن 4 سنوات.
- إذا لم تتوفر أحد هذه الشروط، فيمكن قبول الطالب بتقدير جيد وأعلى بشرط دراسة المواد الاستدراكية التالية:
- تطبيقات علم النفس التربوي
- تكنولوجيا التعليم
- أصول التربية
- في حال حصول الطالب على تقدير أقل من جيد فيمكن قبوله بشرط لا تقل سنوات الخبرة عن سنتين في المجالات ذات الصلة بالإدارة أو التربية.
- يقبل جميع الطلبة بالبرنامج بمسار المقررات والمشروع البحثي (البحث) فقط.
- تحدد لجنة الدراسات العليا بالكلية المقررات الاستدراكية - إن لزمت – عند قبول الطالب بالبرنامج.
- يسرى على المقررات الاستدراكية ما يسري على مقررات البكالوريوس ولا تحسب ضمن الخطة الدراسية للطالب بالبرنامج ويتوجب على الطالب الانتهاء من دراسة المقررات الاستدراكية بنجاح وذلك خلال الفصل الدراسي الأول من تاريخ التحاقه بالبرنامج مع إمكانية تسجيل المقرر مناهج البحث الكمية.

Faculty of Business | Master of Business Administration | - Hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent in any field of specialization* with:
- Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 for candidates with minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience; or
- Minimum CGPA 2.0 out of 4.0 for candidates with minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Based on the Faculty’s Admission and Selection Committee recommendations, applicant from non-business specialization may be required to complete up to 8 units (4 courses) of bridging courses before being considered for admission. This requirement will stand unless waiver for some or all of these courses are granted. The bridging courses will not count towards the overall CGPA required for the MBA program. Bridging Courses are:
- Principles of Accounting
- Principles of Management
- Introduction to Microeconomics
- Principles of Marketing
- Satisfy the English proficiency requirements: an IELTS score of ≥ 6 , or TOEFL score of 500 or above in paper-based exam, or score of 173 or above in the computer-based exam, or 61 in internet-based exam (not older than 2 years).
- All MBA candidates will be interviewed by the ‘Admission and Selection Committee’ at Faculty of Business to assess their motivation, professional experience, communication and leadership skills.
- Candidates who meet SU admission criteria and successfully pass the interviews will be granted admission based on availability of seats.
All admissions are subject to the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education Research & Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman. |
Faculty of Computing And IT | Master of Science (Computer Science) | - CGPA of at least CGPA 2.5 out of 4.00 for fresh graduates (Bachelor degree in Computing or equivalent).
- CGPA ≥ 2.3 (with two or more year’s appropriate professional experience in the specialist of computer science).
- Satisfy the English proficiency requirements: an IELTS score of ≥ 6 , or TOFEL score of 500 or above in paper-based exam or score of 173 or above in the computer-based exam or 61 in internet-based exam (not more than 2 years old).
- A student with Bachelor degree in the computer engineering, electronics engineering and communication may be considered for the admission with additional courses. The additional courses will be chosen by the faculty from the following: (Object Oriented Programming, System Analysis and Design, Computer Architecture, Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Operating System).

Faculty of Engineering | PhD of Engineering | - Hold a Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Process, Process Operation and Maintenance engineering, or any other relevant engineering field.
- Satisfy the English proficiency requirements: an IELTS score of ≥ 6 , or TOEFL score of 500 or above in paper-based exam or score of 173 or above in the computer-based exam or 61 in internet-based exam (not more than 2 years old).
- Successfully passed the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination scheduled within the first semester of enrolment.
- Admission will be dependent on an assessment of the research topic proposed by the student, to ensure that Sohar University is able to provide appropriate supervision and facilities to support that research. Assessment will be the responsibility of the Ph.D. Programme Coordinator and it will be carried out in discussion with the student, Research Degree Committee and the faculty management team to support that research prior to approval of the topic.
- Admission is subject to the ratifications of the MoHERI, Sultanate of Oman.

Faculty of Engineering | Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering | - Hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering field (Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Metallurgy and Materials Engineering or other related Engineering specialisation form Sohar and other reputed universities/colleges) with:
- CGPA of at least2.5 out of 4.00 for new graduates or
- CGPA 2.25 out of 4.00 for candidates with 2 or more years of relevant professional experience
- Satisfy the English proficiency requirements: an IELTS score of ≥ 6 , or TOFEL score of 500 or above in paper-based exam or score of 173 or above in the computer-based exam or 61 in internet-based exam (not more than 2 years old).
- Pass marks in an interview with the Admission Committee at Faculty of Engineering (FE).

Faculty of Language Studies | Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) | - Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as English Language, Linguistics, or Education with a substantial English component with:
- CGPA of at least 2.5 out of 4.00 (or equivalent) for fresh graduates or
- 2.25 out of 4.00 (or equivalent) for candidates with 2 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Have a Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) (for holders of non- education programme).
- Have an IELTS band score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 87 (iBT) / 580 (iPT).
- Have successful pass marks in an interview with the Admission Committee at the Faculty of Language Studies (FLS).

Faculty of Law | Master in Public Law | - Hold a bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Law.
- CGPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.00 (or equivalent) or
- Satisfactory grade for candidates with 2 or more years of relevant professional experience in law field.
No objection letter from the employers to continue study with the addition of some conditions. |
